The committee shall adjust the bill on the legal status of foreigners and stateless persons (Reg. No. 8570) to the second reading. The bill presents a new version of the Law "On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons."
The bill determines the rights and obligations of foreigners and stateless persons who are staying in Ukraine, and regulates their entry to and exit from Ukraine.
Under the bill, foreigners and stateless persons legally staying in Ukraine have the same rights and freedoms as the citizens of Ukraine, except for the cases envisaged by the Constitution of Ukraine, laws and international agreements of Ukraine.
The committee shall also adjust the bill on identification documents and documents certifying citizenship of Ukraine (Reg. No. 8507) to the second reading. The bill regulates relations in the sphere of registration, issue and exchange of documents, prolongs legal operation of identification and citizenship certifying documents and documents on person's special status (foreign passport, diplomatic passport, service passport, pension certificate, driving license, insurance certificate, etc).
The committee also organizes the parliamentary hearings "Ethno-National Policy: Achievements and Prospects" (October, 2011), and the committee hearings "Implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On Prevention of Domestic Violence" (November, 2011).
